Separate inconvenience from an emergency
If a person or animal inside is exposed to immediate danger, contact emergency services and follow their instructions. Where there is no immediate danger, calmly check whether a spare key is available. Do not force a window or door just to save a few minutes.
Provide the vehicle details
Prepare the make, model, year and key type. Explain whether the key is inside, lost or damaged and whether an electrical fault is involved. Possibilities vary with the vehicle security equipment. Entry should not be promised without this initial assessment.
Prepare proof and access
The professional may ask you to establish your right to access the car. Have available information ready and identify its parking location. Opening a door and making a replacement key are different services: explain the outcome you need. Confirm feasibility and conditions beforehand, and request an assessment if the lock already had a fault.
