Describe what happens
Does the engine turn without starting, do you hear a click, or is the dashboard completely dark? These situations can have different causes. Note warning lights, unusual sounds and when you last drove the car. Avoid repeated attempts: they can drain the battery further without solving the fault.
Explain the vehicle and its location
Provide the make, model, year and powertrain. In a hybrid or electric vehicle, the auxiliary battery is separate from the traction battery. If the car is inside a garage, mention the entrance height and available space. Do not dismantle components to attempt an improvised diagnosis.
